Adopt a Street

The Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) Adopt a Street program aims to build a connected network of community volunteers that contribute to keeping Seattle neighborhoods clean by cleaning up on the streets they live, work, school, play, etc. It is a program that is just as much about facilitating connection among neighbors and supporting volunteers to help keep Seattle’s street litter-free.

It truly does take the village to keep Seattle’s streets clean! Through this program, volunteers make a direct impact on the livability of their neighborhood and a visible contribution to their community. Adopt a Street provides cleanup supplies, including yellow trash bags, safety vests, gloves, and litter grabbers to support cleanup efforts. We also pick-up and dispose of the bags of litter that volunteers collect.

Adopting a street is fun and flexible! Clean up alone, on your way to work or school, or with your business, school, club or faith-based organization!
